January 14 - March 1, 2019, at the Helene Center Galleries at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa

This multi-room immersive exhibition explores the 1990 suicide of Julia’s father when she was 16 years old. She has recreated rooms of her childhood home for all to wander and explore. This exhibition was borne out of a gift of a box of his possessions,, lost for 25 years. These objects inspired her to look into his life, challenge the narrative she had been told, and create a portrait of her father that pays tribute to him and creates space for understanding and forgiveness.
